At Soul & Smoke, we treat barbecue with the reverence it deserves. We are consumed with the details: the meat-to-bone ratio on our ribs, the creaminess of our mac and cheese, and the combination of spices in Chef Carter’s signature sauce.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers and co-workers at all times.
- Prepare and open patio/restaurant space for lunch service and/or close space after dinner service.
- Take customer orders at the counter and over phone, double-check orders from the kitchen before giving them to customers.
- Communicate and coordinate with customers, kitchen, and colleagues effectively.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.
- Acknowledge and resolve any customer issues and complaints.
- Keep up with side work, including cleaning tables, filling sauce cups.
- Gain knowledge of all our products and services with the ability to answer questions accurately.
- Provide customer and other feedback to the Soul & Smoke team.
- Ability to stay calm and respectful under stress and when customers are stressed or upset.
- Able to walk/stand for most of the shift.
- Comfortable using computer and POS system.
- Experience working with customer support.
- Quick problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to multitask and keep organized.
- Ability to work in a team with different personalities.
- Prior food experience and knowledge are preferred.
- A drivers' license is preferred.
- COVID vaccination preferred.
- JOB TYPE: Full-time or part-time.
- PAY: $15-17 per hour, plus pooled service charge/revenue share (usually $4-6 per hour additional)
- BENEFITS: Staff meals are provided each shift, plus 50% dining discounts. Medical and dental insurance, Aflac, and retirement savings are available after 90 days for full-time employees.
- Accrued paid sick leave.
